Who We Are
Arctic Study is a Finnish host organisation established by Heidi and Ari, two educational professionals with years of experience in international activities. Our specific competence is based on vocational education and training.
We are a cooperation partner working with companies and schools abroad that wish to implement joint projects and/or mobility periods in Finland.
What We Ensure
Our main goal as a host organisation is to support educational institutions by managing all activities required for a successful mobility period. The only thing you need to organise is travel to and from Finland — we take care of the rest.
In addition, we act as a partner in European-level strategic projects with strong expertise in project management and practical implementation. For us, it is essential that every project achieves its goals, meets quality requirements and delivers measurable impact.
Our Unique Environment
One of our special strengths in Finland — and something we are proud of — is our unique nature. We offer training placements in beautiful and pure Lapland and in the Finnish Archipelago, supported by trusted workplace partners.

What We Do
We provide services in several roles:
As a Host Organisation
We support educational institutions in implementing mobility periods in Finland. We organise training placements according to qualification requirements, arrange accommodation, maintain reliable communication between the educational institution and the workplace, provide a welcome package and orientation to Finnish working culture, and ensure smooth coordination throughout the period.
As an Erasmus Project Partner
We actively participate in international development projects, contributing our expertise in mobility periods, education and training, guidance and regional cooperation.
As a Sending Organisation
We assist students and experts in implementing their international mobility periods from Finland. We support the achievement of set objectives, ensure safety and promote goal-oriented competence development worldwide.
As a Training Provider
We offer flexible, work-life-oriented training opportunities, especially in micro-credentials.

AS Team
Heidi Ruusumo
International enthusiastic, business teacher and pedagogy. I have done my master’s degree in economics. On my way on the lifelong journey. It is not just about sunny days, downs of the off roads are experienced too and the most valuable lessons I have learned in life, in practice.
I am one of the co-founders of Arctic Study. Arctic Study is established based on earlier experiences of its co-founders, and passion to do some good personal input for our future by helping the young generation to be ready for the global world.
The best part of me is when interacting with others. I have been managing and being hands-on doers in several EU-level projects. I have had privileges to work with hundreds of the students by teaching and coaching them, as well as sending, receiving and supporting their international mobilities.
Now and even more in the future, the world needs a workforce with a global mindset. Our goal in Arctic Study is offering the pathway to gain these competencies required. Our home country, Finland, with its unique nature, high quality education, social security system and equality gives us added value. Doing our business as a bridge-builder between citizens of the world, Arctic Study would like to show respect for that advantage that our country enables us by supporting international mobility and labor-based immigration.

Ari Tornberg
I am one of the founders of Arctic Study. Years of work as a business studies teacher and involvement in international projects have created a strong foundation for our company. Over the years, I have worked closely with European educational institutions as a project manager and project partner, and I have sent a large number of Finnish students to internship placements in various European countries. From experience, I know that after an international placement, students return as different people than they were before.
For me, the most important priorities are students’ well-being and safety. I do everything I can to ensure that students, educational institutions, and companies can trust Arctic Study’s promise: you only need to take care of arranging travel to Finland – we will take care of everything else.
At my best, I am there for students – listening, supporting and caring. I want to share their worries and their joys. I also act as a reliable link between educational institutions and companies. In line with Arctic Study’s slogan, together with my business partner we act as bridge builders between global citizens.
Having grown up in Lapland, I want to offer our clients unforgettable experiences of the magical winter of Lapland. During the summer, the world’s most unique archipelago provides a learning environment found nowhere else.
